Guardians are (almost) perfect.

Last year I bought two DW Guardians (38 Super and .45auto) while in a buying frenzy that hopefully is about to end.
Although the Guardians are packed with many great features you might find on some similar guns from the semi custom makers, there were a few things that just drove me nuts, things I needed to change to make them to my liking.

First thing to go were the thin shadow grips. These things looked great but I can't shoot worth a damn with thin grips. For what ever reason I seem to push the POI to the left when ever I shoot with them. And with the exception of my custom 10mm Silverback, all my DW guns came with thin grips.

Next to go was the smooth MSH. Who in there right minds would want a smooth blackstrap in the palm of their hands.
So I ordered and installed two Ed Brown checkered MSH's. Now we're getting somewhere.

Last but most important was to replace the medium length trigger with a long smooth offering from Cylinder & Side. So now all is well. I mean I love these two Guardians. So much so that I am carrying one or the other almost exclusively. They are accurate, reliable, light weight and the iron clad Duty Treat finish still looks like it did when I first opened the case.
They are (almost) the perfect carry gun. They just need to be tweaked.
