second build. commander 9mm

Hey guys.

After my first build (a full size 1911 with rail and threaded barrel) i was sure that there will not be a second one, as parts are hard to get over here...

But somehow it happend that a friend notified me that a local gunsmith has an oversized commander frame and slide from caspian for a very nice price (320bucks for the set) so i couldn resist and bought it...

now I m gathering informations about the commander size 1911s (as i have no clue about that kind of 1911), before ordering parts from brownells and let them ship it overseas. I want to make sure i get all the parts right the first time as they only ship 100buck worth of parts at a time... and shipping is not the cheapest...

I found out that most parts are the same compared to the government.

extractor is 9mm/38 super for commander slides. also barrel is shorter (of course) barrel bushing is also different. Is it only shorter or has the lug also other dimensions (can i buy a full size bushing and just mill down in lenght?)

Is the barrel only shorter or are the lugs lower and upper also different? I have to have an austrian barrel maker make the barrel as importing one is a big hassle and includes lots of paperwork... He already made the full size barrel for me and it came out nicely.

guide rod and recoilspring are also shorter.

How is it with hammers and beavertail grip safety? Can i use a standard gripsafety with standard hammer?
Read something that alll the engagemant areas are the same but something is different in commander hammers right?
