Please HELP.. Info on original Springfield Operator

Ok i am looking to possibly Trade an AR 15 for a Springfield operator. I thought i had seen knew about all that Springfield 1911s but this does not look like anything i have ran across. I have only seen pictures of it and i cant really find much on line.
He said it is a lightweight operator but it looks like a TRP with GI sights, No checkering of front strap, no TRP marking and no magwell. It has to be one of if not the first operator..maybe.
Can any one give me a little info on this. He said he has 2 and this one has 5 rounds through it. I really would like to know what its worth and little bit about it. Im looking to trade him for my AR with over 3 grand in the rifle and since i cant find out much about this pistol i just like to know if the value is close. Please help
