Racking slide with trigger held back

I tried this on my new Turnbull Remington-UMC and was startled to see that I couldn't move the slide with the trigger all the way back.

I think this is a big issue, personally. I stripped the pistol, polished the various surfaces of the cast disconnector and the rear of the trigger bow. After reassembly, whew, I can rack the slide with trigger back.

So now I have to find a new disconnector. Since the disconnector hole seems kinda big, I think I'll take the EGW ball-head disconnector out of my Colt and see how it fits the Turnbull. I think I'll also just for peace of mind toss the sear spring and replace it too.

This pistol sure looks great from the outside but I'm beginning to wonder whether the insides are up to snuff.
