Placed an order with the good folks at Dan Wesson...
So my 45th birthday is coming up and I decided to by another .45 ACP 1911 to join my now lonely Dan Wesson Duty Black Specialist.
Upon looking at a ton of different 1911s from Cabot to Colt and everything in between at the Louisville NRAAM show a couple of weeks ago, I decided to place a order with Dan Wesson on a semi-custom built gun. See, I want some thing to carry and actually use. Not just a pretty "BBQ Gun" (I am talking to you Cabot...).
The other great benefit of the show was I got to meet some great people, from Ted Nugent, Col West, and the ever gentleman Keith Lawton of Dan Wesson. By the way, Keith is really great to talk to and work with.
So here is the order I have placed with Keith (see below), I know it is going to take a better part of a year do getting machine time for the Clark Style Ribs on the top of the slide but I can wait.
My question is, what holster will work with this beast?
VBOB Slide in Duty Treat (flat top slide with "Clark Ribs" on the top of a VBOB slide like on the Specialist)
Cut down a Specialist frame and bobtail (.45 ACP) to commander in Duty Treat
Carry cuts and blend into rail
Ball cuts and blend into rail
Recessed slide stop pin
Phase II dehorn
Flush cut barrel with 30 degree reverse crown with high polish
The numbers "022772" etched on the left side of the dust cover
The word "Custom" etched on the right side of the dust cover
Engraved "DW" recoil spring plug or a EGW beveled barrel bushing and spring plug
Blend junction and overall appearance of the bushing and spring plug
Duty treat bushing and spring plug
add Silverback black trigger
add Silverback grips
add Discretion black hammer
add Ambi safety
Regards and Happy Memorial Day,
Eric
