Anyone ever used a "Small-of-back" holster just to get the added cant?

The butt of my 1911 rubbed a hole in my car seat. It was bad enough that I needed to get it reupholstered*. Chunks of foam everywhere. I was using an "Avenger" style holster, specifically a Malabar Gunleather Expert. I need more cant.

It actually seems that I need a lot more cant. Plus I like the gun to ride high to stay under my shirt.

Then I noticed that with a "Small-of-back" holster you get a TON of cant, plus the gun rides very high.

I have no intention however of wearing it at the small of my back, but instead would wear it at between three and four o'clock like a normal holster.

Has anyone tried this? How well did it work?

*Odd that "upholstery" has the word "holster" in it when they get along so poorly.
