Grip/saftey trouble

Ok I have a Nighthawk Talon and I am trying to install some new grips.... The problem is when I tighten the new grips down they don't allow me to work the ambi saftey.... It is the tang kind.

The new grips I am trying to use and I have tried several now all have the same issue.... I am using the grips with the cut out for tang saftey and noticed on the Alumagrips that it appears the the tang is rubbing/ gouging into the grip.

I think my two options are the try and dremel the cutout on the grip or sand down the tang on the saftey.

My concerns are damaging the grips or basically doing anything to the saftey that could affect its function.... Any ideas or advice for me
