I guess I have been seduced to the dark side of 1911s and want to get a 9x25 Dillon for hog hunting. My idea was a 6" long slide 1911 (Caspian?) in 9x25 Dillon. While most people I know use 10mm Glocks to hunt hogs, I think that the 9x25 Dillon is ballistically superior to the 10mm (sacrilege, I know). I am just not surer how 9x25 Dillon loads will work for hunting. The ammo I have seen from Double Tap is all fairly light Barnes bullets, which should stay together, but I doubt their penetration. It would be great if some heavy .357 bullets could be loaded instead of 9mm.
Anyway, does anyone have any experience with the 9x25 Dillon and think that it would make a good hog round, especially out of a long slide 1911. Or am I just looking for an excuse for something exotic and would be better served with a standard length 10mm (boring)? Thanks for any input.
