Dan Wesson CCO - Yes, I'm Excited!!!

samedi 28 mai 2016

Today I traded a couple of handguns that I really wasn't wild about for a gun I've been eye-balling for a long, long time, but wasn't sure I'd ever be able to get -- a Dan Wesson CCO. Only has 125 rounds through it, and came with very nice VZ grips in addition to the factory ones. I still can't believe I have one one of these. Needless to say, if she shoots anywhere near as good as I think she will, this has now become the one gun I would never consider parting with. Man, just from handling this thing, I can see what the DW fuss is all about for sure.

I do have one question, for those of you who own a DW with the Duty Treat finish. I've read all sorts of things on the internet about lubes that should be used/shouldn't be used to clean/lube it (have looked at the "sticky" as well). I've always used Ballistol for all my guns. I just like it. In the reading I've done, I haven't been able to come across any "official word" from CZ or DW that Ballistol is safe for the DT finish, even though a lot of folks say they use it with no problems. So is Ballistol a go, or a no go? I'd hate to ruin a beautiful gun like this, but I'd also hate to have to buy special cleaners just for it if it wasn't necessary.

Here's the obligatory "pic or it didn't happen" picture...
