New colt 9mm LW commander or DW pointsman?

I am looking to get a 9mm LW in Commander form factor, having an older .45 Colt Commander made in 1978 which I love.

I realize that I'm not comparing apples to apples, but do folks here think the DW would be worth the extra 450-550 it might cost, or does the Colt represent the best value?

I also realize that the new Colt LW commanders are just starting to hit shelves, so they represent a bit of an unknown quantity.

Just looking for other folks opinions.

I have to do more research as to whether the DW has a series 70 safety and what the guide rods in both are like.

Do folks have any opinions on mechanicals when comparing 9mm vs .45?
