Remora Holsters... too good to be true?

I normally don't write reviews on the forum, but this product made such an impression that I felt one was warranted. I recently bought a S&W Shield for an on-duty backup gun and to carry around when my full-size Kimber isn't well suited. I was looking for a holster and decided I wanted to try something a little different for a change. I have read great reviews about Remora Holsters for a while but for the most part I turned my nose up thinking they were ugly and there was no way they would work properly. For a pocket holster, yes; for a real IWB holster, no. However, I visited their site and saw they were running a sale so I picked up a holster with the added sweat guard and a free mag pouch for less than $30 shipped. What could I lose?

The holster arrived a little over a week later (they make the product when you order) and my initial impression was that it was a good, quality holster (albeit made of Denier and their signature sticky rubber). I tried the holster out IWB for some quick errands for a couple days and all I can say is that I am very impressed. The holster is comfortable, minimal, easy to adjust, and does hold very well. I honestly did not have to adjust/re-position the Remora any more than I do my other holsters after sitting or moving a lot. I am very pleased with my Remora so far and I have told some of my friends about them. One in particular was very curious about how well it worked and he was just as surprised as me when I told him that it performed great.

I would definitely recommend a Remora holster for a small revolver or semi-auto. I can't speak on how well they perform with large guns and honestly I think they may falter with a 3 pound 1911; but they do work wonderfully for guns such as the Shield. You can get most of their holsters for less than $35 shipped and they offer upgrades like leather lining and sweat guards. My Remora was well worth the money.
