New Garrett Silent Thunder STX Champion rig for EMP4
So, I took the plunge 2 weeks ago and bought my 14y/o a new Springfield EMP4 Champion to use in USPSA and IDPA competition. He loves the gun, the smaller frame fits him much better and his accuracy and control improved immediately. Of course, I didn't have any gear sized for the EMP4 so I checked with Garrett to make sure they were making gear for the new gun and ordered him one of their Silent Thunder STX Champion holsters and a three mag carrier to go with it. Since he's so puny (5'1", 107lbs) they offered to put more curve in the mag carrier to fit his hip better. The stuff came in a couple of days ago and it is perfect, the holster fits the gun like a glove and the mag pouches are exact fits as well. He shot a match with the EMP4 last weekend using one of my Commander holsters and a double mag pouch made for full size 1911 mags, it worked but nothing fit exactly right so he's really looking forward to the next match to try out and show off his new gear. Now if I could just find some extra mags....
