Is the Dan Wesson Valor the Best Pick in the $1,500 Range?

Hey all.

I was wondering about what choices there are for those that can spend say $1,500 on a 1911. After I looked at and handled a few really nice 1911's the other day, it got me thinking. All of them were WELL OVER the $1,500 range though.

Usually when I see threads asking about 1911's that are right below the Brown, Wilson, Nighthawk and Baer pistols, the Dan Wesson 1911's are often mentioned as the best choice if you are going to spend that kind of money. I've never seen or handled one though. I'd like to hear what you all think about the Dan Wesson Valor full size.

Is it the best choice without going to the BIG NAME 1911's that we are all familiar with? If it isn't, what do you think is?
