Today was nice and bright (until around 1330) and I shot with my father and brother in law with my brother in law on the spotting scope. This is the first time I've shot since a rollover last month and a pretty nasty concussion. My prescription lenses were destroyed in the accident and my spare set is with my kit going off to Fort Irwin for my AT this year and I'm awaiting a replacement pair...with this in mind I chose to test the rifle one last time and see just how good I was shooting from the prone (unsupported) and standing unsupported before doing ready ups and controlled pairs I approached the target starting at 100 meters.
My RDS is a Primary Arms Advanced RDS (I built my father an AR last year as well as a gift and hence I was forced to find a good quality optic at a bargain price) 2 MOA, 50k hours of battery life, shooting at what looked to my naked and unassisted eye (mind you I normally wear glasses) at what looked like a black blob with a rifle that has been through 4k rounds with minimal cleaning, this is what I managed to achieve.
The target. Firing first from the prone unsupported (at 100 meters), then standing unsupported (100 meters), and then doing ready ups as I approached (starting at 100 meters). All in all I'm very pleased with the results considering that I haven't shot for over thirty days, I was not wearing corrective lenses, and because after my accident I haven't exactly been Action Jackson.

Overall I'm pleased and the rifle is now getting a serious cleaning. I'm going to add a Dynacomp from Spike's and replace the RDS with a SWFA SS 1-4x24 after AT this June, and then I think I'll focus on building an SBR.
