Colt xse or Dan Wesson heratage 1911

I've gotta ask, I've been wanting a Colt xse, and I own some plain colts. At the local LGS, is a used DW heritage in stainless. The shop is asking 1,187.00, and its used in good condition.

My use, would be for the range, as well as, defense. Which is the better?
