Clicking links, rerouting to same page of link?

Long story short I am curious as to if this is an uncommon issue but present, or if perhaps there is a setting I may have missed? Long story short whenever there is a link in any thread going to some other page/site it simply reroutes me to the same thread that I was on when clicking said link. Now I'm certainly not griping nor am I looking for a fix on a holiday weekend but this is just a simple inquisition on the matter. Anyone that may have any input, would certainly help as well. Back to your regularly scheduled program.
